Safeguarding training is a positive step towards increasing and improving your knowledge.

Safeguarding training is a positive step towards increasing and improving your knowledge and will provide you with a thorough overview of how to recognise the warning signs of abuse, what to do with any concerns that you may have and how to feel confident in protecting vulnerable adults and children from harm.

It is a requirement for all those working with vulnerable adults, children and/or their families to have knowledge of how to safeguard and by attending this training course you will fulfil that obligation. 

Who is this course for? 

This course is suitable for all staff working with vulnerable adults and children ensuring they are proactive in recognising and responding to protection issues. The course is suitable for workers of all levels, including supervisors, full-time staff, part-time staff and volunteers. 

What will you learn?

This one-day course provides an opportunity to consider:

  • Definition of who is a child and who is an adult at risk of abuse
  • Understand the nature of abuse and neglect and describe the different categories of abuse
  • Define the common signs and signals of abuse and describe when and how to report abuse
  • Understand and apply organisational policy and procedures and the potential consequences of not doing so 
  • Good practice and guidance in reporting
  • Appreciate how to help avoid allegations of abuse or unprofessional conduct
